Elk Grove College Grad Portraits | Class of 2026

There's something about photographing a college grad that hits different every single time. You're not just capturing a girl in a cap and gown — you're capturing years of late nights, hard work, and everything she pushed through to get to this moment. This grad brought all of that energy to her session, and honestly? The camera could feel it.

We headed out to one of my favorite spots here in the Elk Grove area as the sun was starting to drop, and the light did exactly what we needed it to do. That golden hour glow came through the trees like it knew she was graduating and wanted to show up for her. She came in wearing a maroon jumpsuit that color-matched her cap and gown perfectly — such a great call — and we went through a few different looks that showed off different sides of her.

We did stoles, the full cap and gown, the hood draped over her back on the path — all of it. One of my favorite shots from the whole session is the one where she's walking away down the trail, looking back over her shoulder with that big smile. That one says everything. And then she brought her boyfriend for a few shots together, and I love how those turned out — the light behind them, him beaming, her leaning in. So sweet.

This is why I love milestone sessions. These aren't just portraits — they're proof. Proof that she did it. Proof that this moment was real.

College grad sessions are one of my favorite things to photograph in the Sacramento region. Whether you want something classic, fun, or a little of both, we'll make sure you walk away with photos that actually look like you — not just someone in a robe.

If your grad is coming up, let's get something on the calendar before the season fills up.
