A Growing Family, A Glowing Mama, and the Most Beautiful Evening at the Park — Elk Grove Maternity Session

There is something so special about a family on the edge of a big change — the kind of change that turns "the three of us" into "the four of us." That electricity was everywhere during this Elk Grove maternity session, and honestly? It made for some of the most genuine, heartfelt images I've captured in a long time.

We headed out to one of my favorite spots here in Elk Grove — a gorgeous park with a quiet lake, sweeping willow trees, and that soft golden-hour light that just does all the work for us. The whole family showed up dressed perfectly: mama in a gorgeous teal floral dress, and her guys in crisp white button-downs and khaki shorts. Coordinated without being matchy-matchy. Yes, please.

What I loved most about this session was watching the big brother steal the show — in the best possible way. He was silly, sweet, and so clearly excited to meet his new sibling. From kissing mama's belly to getting into a full bear-hug wrestling match with dad, he had us all laughing and smiling the entire time. That's the kind of real I live for.

And then there were the quiet moments — the ones where the couple just looked at each other while cradling that beautiful bump. Those are the photos you frame and hang above your fireplace. The ones you show your kids someday. Maternity sessions are about so much more than a pretty dress and a pretty backdrop. They're about documenting a chapter that goes by faster than you think.

If you're expecting and you've been going back and forth on whether to book a maternity session — this is your sign. I'd love to take you out to one of our beautiful spots here in the Sacramento area and give your family the same experience. No stiff posing, no stress. Just your people, your love, and real moments you'll treasure forever.
