Elk Grove Senior Portraits | Nate's Class of 2027 Senior Session

As an Elk Grove senior photographer, I love when a senior comes in knowing exactly what they want, and Nate's request was simple: he really wanted to do pictures with a car. So we found an old red Mustang to make it happen, and this Class of 2027 senior portrait session came together around it.

Nate also loves the Disney movie Cars, so he had to bring some of his Tow Mater swag into the session. That meant a Tow Mater backpack and matching shoes, which turned a great car session into one that could only be his. He wore his Pleasant Grove High School letterman jacket for the Mustang portraits, and they have all the classic senior energy with a lot of personality on top.

Senior portrait sessions can be customized around each senior's personality, interests, outfits, and preferred location, and Nate's is a perfect example of what that looks like.

Choosing the Perfect Elk Grove Location for Senior Photos

For this Elk Grove senior portrait session, we wanted warm light and plenty of variety. We photographed it at one of my favorite spots for senior photos in the Elk Grove area. Between the Mustang, a brick wall, and the train tracks for the cap and gown shots, we had room to do it all.

Outdoor senior photos in Elk Grove can include a mix of traditional portraits, candid images, close-up headshots, and full-length photos. Nate's gallery has every one of those, from a serious close-up to a cap toss and a full jump on the tracks, and I'm so happy with how these Elk Grove graduation photos turned out.

Creating Senior Pictures That Feel Like You

Senior pictures in Elk Grove feel the most like the senior when the session is built around what they love. For Nate, that was a Mustang, his letterman jacket, and a Tow Mater backpack, all in one gallery. That is the approach I bring to every high school senior portrait session, whether you are in Elk Grove or anywhere in the Sacramento area.

When should you book senior pictures in Elk Grove? It depends on what season you want to do your portraits in. If you want Fall Senior portraits, you should book your session in the spring or summer before your Senior year. If you’re going to want Spring time Senior Portraits, you can usually wait until around January to book. Booking early gives us time to plan outfits, pick a location, and find a day with great light. It also means your photos are ready well before graduation announcements and yearbook deadlines.
