Senior portrait season is one of my favorite times of year, and this high school senior’s session reminded me exactly why.

We met at one of my favorite local spots — a lakeside location in Elk Grove with weeping willows, open grass, and the kind of golden hour light that makes everything feel a little cinematic. It's one of those hidden gem locations right here in the Elk Grove area that photographs beautifully no matter the season. Our Senior came relaxed and ready, and honestly the session just flowed from there. She brought a UCLA pennant along to showcase this important milestone in her life — because senior portraits aren't just about great photos, they're about capturing who you are and where you're headed.

That's what I love most about this work. Every senior I photograph is standing at this incredible turning point, and getting to freeze that moment for them and their family is something I genuinely don't take for granted. Whether it's a future Bruin, a local athlete, an artist, or someone who just wants to be seen and celebrated — these sessions matter.
